BOD System

Written by: Equinox

BODs (Bulk Order Deeds) are a system where blacksmith and tailor characters can earn special items, gold and fame. In December 2016 this system was expanded on OSI to also cover Alchemy, Bowcraft, Carpentry, Cooking, Inscription and Tinkering.

Players with at least 0.1 skill have a chance at getting a BOD. To do so, left click the relevant NPC vendor and click Bulk Order Info in the menu that opens.

BODs can be obtained from the following NPC vendors:

  • Alchemy – NPC Alchemist
  • Blacksmith – NPC Armorer, Blacksmith, Iron Worker and Weaponsmith
  • Bowcraft – NPC Bowyer
  • Carpentry – NPC Carpenter
  • Cooking – NPC Baker, Cook
  • Inscription – NPC Scribe
  • Tailor – NPC Tailor and Weaver
  • Tinker – NPC Tinker

Keeping missed BOD claims

  • NPC vendors hold on to your last three BOD claims.
  • Regardless of skill, a BOD can be claimed once every 6 hours.
  • The system holds unclaimed BODs for you for up to 18 hours.
  • You can claim your 3 stored BODs back to back.
  • When you fill a BOD and turn it in, you earn the right to claim a new BOD.
For example:
  • Example 1: If you log in after 18 hours you can claim 3 BODs at once.
  • Example 2: You claimed 3 BODs, filled them and turned them in, and you immediately earn the right to claim 3 BODs.
Each skill's BOD is a different color. Double clicking a BOD shows you the item name, the amount required, the quality required and the material details. BODs are "blessed", they cannot be stolen.

There are two ways to fill small BODs.

  • If the required items are crafted and in your pack, or inside another bag in your pack, pick the "Combine this deed with contained items" option and click the bag holding the items to automatically add every matching item to the BOD.

  • With the "Combine this deed with the item requested" option you can add items one by one by clicking them. Use this for potions and other stackable items.
To collect your reward you can drag the completed BOD onto the NPC vendor and drop it, or add it to a matching Large BOD. Before turning the BOD in you can enable or disable the Banking Points option. You do not have to turn the BOD in to the NPC vendor you got it from, you can hand it to any other NPC vendor that gives the same type of BOD. Items added to BODs cannot be taken back.

BOD Types

Small BOD
s are the primary BOD type for crafters at 70 skill and above. If a player is below 70 skill they always get a small BOD.

Below 70 skill you always get BODs asking for normal quality items (which can also be filled with exceptional items), requiring basic materials (iron, plain wood, plain leather or cloth), and which grant skill while you fill them. These are the ideal BODs for training a skill.

Large BODs are rarer, harder to fill, and require you to fill several small BODs of the requested item type and then add the filled Small BODs to the matching Large BOD, just as items are added to Small BODs. The example in the picture below shows a Large BOD that needs 5 small BODs to fill. The requested type and count must be matched exactly.

Order Filling Exceptions

  • Normal (non exceptional) BODs can be filled with exceptional BODs.
  • Exceptional BODs can only be filled with exceptional items.
  • Large BODs asking for plain material (iron or leather) can be filled with Small BODs asking for colored material. The exception is that colored footwear Small BODs cannot be combined with cloth Large BODs.
BOD Bribery

  • Players can bribe the NPC vendors that hand out BODs.
  • NPC vendors accept a bribe from the player to upgrade a BOD into a better one.
    • Upgrades: Amount, quality, material
    • Only completely empty BODs can be upgraded.
  • NPC vendors can get greedier over time and ask for higher bribes.
    • High level BODs require high bribes.
  • NPC vendors that take bribes too often come under Guild investigation and stop taking bribes for a while.
  • To start the process, pick the Bribe option from the relevant NPC vendor's menu and follow the instructions.

Rewards

Rewards come in 3 groups. The first is gold. For large BODs the gold value depends on the type. The gold reward for small BODs is worked out by taking half the NPC vendor price of the requested item and multiplying it by the number of items (if an item sells for 200 gold at an NPC vendor, the reward will be 100 x the number of items in gold). The reward gold goes straight into the character's bank account.

The second reward is an amount of fame, worked out from the point value of the BOD.

The third reward is points. They can be used to take a special reward right away, or a certain percentage of them can be banked for later use. This is where you set the "Banking Points" option on the BOD.

When the "Always" option is picked, points are banked without asking for confirmation.
When the "Enabled" option is picked, the menu below opens when the BOD is dropped on the NPC vendor.

You can pick "No" to go to the reward selection menu, or press "OKAY" to bank the points. Pressing "enter" on the keyboard does the same thing as pressing "OKAY".

When the "Disable" option is picked and the BOD is dropped on the NPC vendor, the reward menu opens straight away.

Points and Banking

  • 2% of small BOD points and 20% of large BOD points can be banked.
  • Banked points cannot be combined with unbanked ones.
    • Example: If a character has banked 20 points and turns in a BOD worth 610 points, the points they can use are 610, not 630.
  • Points can be spent on any reward requiring an equal or lower number of points, and the leftover points are wiped.
    • Example: If a character turns in a BOD worth 610 points without picking the banking option and takes a reward worth 575 points, the leftover 35 points are wiped.
  • Banked points can be used with the "Claim Rewards" option in the NPC vendor menu.
  • You can close the reward menu without picking any reward, but you cannot turn in a new BOD until the reward you have earned is claimed using the "Claim Rewards" menu.

BOD Books

BOD books are designed to store large numbers of BODs. You can think of a book as a bag that only BODs can go into, no matter the BOD type or size.

Books also have a filtering option that shows only the BOD types you want to see.

BOD Books and Player Shops

BOD books can be placed in shops in two different ways:

  1. You add the book as "not for sale" and then set a separate price for each BOD inside it. The book will let buyers take the BOD they pick at the listed price. The filtering options can be used while they browse.
  2. You add the book as "not for sale" and set no price for the BODs inside it. This is simply a storage method that only works for BODs.
