Chivalry Skill

Chivalry is the paladin's core skill. It is useful in combat in many situations. Higher Chivalry lets you cast higher level spells with a greater effect.

To cast the spells you need a chivalry book. You can buy one from the defender of chivalry in Luna. The book contains every spell.

Paladin spells are affected by your karma. Some spells will still work with low or negative karma, but their duration and effect will be reduced. Some spells (remove curse in particular) will not work at all unless your karma is strong.

Instead of reagents, the spells require you to tithe gold. Each spell consumes a certain amount of tithing points, and without them you cannot cast. To tithe, single-click an ankh and choose the "tithe gold" option. Lower reagent cost equipment does affect paladin spells, but you still need a minimum amount of tithing points.

Paladin spells are affected by faster casting and faster cast recovery equipment. If your Magery and Mysticism skills are below 70, the maximum effective fc is 4 and fcr is 8. If your Magery or Mysticism is 70 or above, the maximum effective fc is 2.

Skill Training

While training, remember that faster casting equipment affects Chivalry and spell channeling is not required. So if your weapon and shield both have faster casting, you will cast more quickly.

The spells to cast at each level:

  • 15 - 25: Consecrate Weapon
  • 25 - 35: Divine Fury
  • 35 - 55: Dispel Evil
  • 45 - 55: Enemy of One
  • 55 - 110: Holy Light
  • 110 - 120: Noble Sacrifice
