Artifact Items

Armor Refinement lets players refine non-medable armour. Generally speaking, metal armour (plate/chain/ring), bone armour, dragon scale armour and studded leather armour are not medable. Non-medable armour becomes medable if it has the Mage Armor property.

To refine armour you must be a grandmaster in Blacksmith, Tailoring or Carpentry.

There are two methods of refining armour:

Reinforced – Raises the maximum resist while lowering the maximum defence chance by 1. (You give up DCI cap to raise your resist caps.)

Deflecting – Lowers the maximum resist while raising the maximum defence chance by 1. (You give up resist caps to raise your DCI cap.)

Refinement components come in the following levels:

  • Invulnerability – Applies four modifications with a chance to apply five modifications.
  • Fortification – Applies three modifications with a chance to apply four modifications.
  • Hardening – Applies two modifications with a chance to apply three modifications.
  • Protection – Applies one modification with a chance to apply two modifications.
  • Defense – Applies one modification.
Swords, shields and clothing that are rare in the world and give you an edge in combat are called artifacts. There are also decorative artifact items.

Stealable Artifacts:

These artifacts spawn at set intervals according to how rare they are. You will need the Stealing skill to steal them. They spawn in Doom Dungeon on the Malas map, in Yomotsu Mines and the Fan Dojo on the Tokuno map, and in the Stygian Abyss and the Underworld on the TerMur map.

Artifacts That Drop From Creatures:

When you fight and kill the bosses in the Doom Gauntlet, you earn a chance at an artifact. Your chance of getting an artifact is not high. Wearing equipment with Luck will help your artifact drops. If you are fighting in a group, the luck of the player who does the most damage is what counts.

When you win an artifact it appears directly in your backpack.

Players who take part in Champion Spawns earn a chance at champion artifacts. When the champion is killed, any player who killed monsters at the champion spawn also has a chance at an artifact. The player who did the most damage to the monsters has the highest chance. There is a chance of one artifact dropping per champion spawn. There is no rule that an artifact will be given every time. You have to be in the champion spawn area to receive the artifact.

When a Peerless Boss creature is killed, there is a chance of a Peerless artifact being on its corpse.

Minor artifacts have 2 sources;

1. Paragon Creatures
2. Leviathan

These are obtained from various sources on the TerMur map. Artifacts from creatures are found on their corpses.

ML Minor artifacts are obtained by killing the Named Monsters in the ML dungeons. When you win an artifact it drops straight into your backpack.

Virtue Artifacts are obtained by killing any creature in the 7 anti-virtue dungeons on the Felucca map.

Note
: Creatures at a champion spawn do not drop virtue artifacts.

Tokuno Artifacts are obtained by killing any creature in the Yomotsu Mines and the Fan Dancer Dojo area on the Tokuno map.

Note
: Creatures at a champion spawn do not drop tokuno artifacts.

Craftable Artifacts
:

The fact that these artifacts can be crafted does not mean they are easy to get. To craft one of them you must have learned the required recipe, have found the required components, and have the skill level needed to make the item.

When an artifact is crafted, you do not get the bonuses that come from using special materials or a runic tool. Apart from the Scrapper's Compendium, artifacts cannot be crafted at exceptional quality.
