Paragon Creatures
Every creature that spawns into the world has a certain chance of being born golden in color and stronger than normal. These are called Paragon creatures. Paragons only spawn on the Ilshenar map, at a 1/20 rate. When a Paragon is killed there is a chance it drops a minor artifact or a paragon chest as a reward.
Paragon chests are level 1-5. To open them you need the Lockpicking skill. Those chests can contain artifacts as well.
Note: A Paragon's chance to drop an artifact varies with the creature's Fame value and your character's Luck value.
