Power Scroll
Normally you can raise any skill up to 100. Once a skill hits 100 you are known as a Grand Master (GM) in that skill, and you will succeed at most of the skill based activities you want to do.
Even so, you can increase the effect of a skill by pushing it above 100. To do that you need to obtain and use a power scroll for that skill. Using a Power Scroll raises your skill cap, and you can then train that skill up to the new cap.
There are 4 types of power scroll;
- A Wondrous Scroll of [Skill Name] (105 Skill)
- An Exalted Scroll of [Skill Name] (110 Skill)
- A Mythical Scroll of [Skill Name] (115 Skill)
- A Legendary Scroll of [Skill Name] (120 Skill)
Power scrolls can be obtained from several sources;
- As quest rewards: the Professional Fisher Quest for Fishing power scrolls, and the Mastering the Soulforge Quest for Imbuing power scrolls,
- From Blacksmithy and Tailoring bulk order deed rewards,
- By killing the champions at champion spawns
Getting Power Scrolls
When fighting a champion spawn, the hard part is usually the creatures rather than the champion itself. Even so, only the champion rewards power scrolls; even if you did most of the work killing the creatures, you have no chance at a power scroll unless you attack the champion. Every player who does enough damage to the champion to earn loot rights has the same chance at a power scroll. (Note that whether or not you did enough damage, you can loot the champion's corpse without becoming a criminal.) Common champions give 6 power scrolls split among the players, and if there are fewer than 6 players, some will get more than 1 power scroll. The Harrower gives 8 stat scrolls split among the players.
On top of the power scrolls the champion gives, there is also a chance to get a power scroll from killing the creatures at a champion spawn. These power scrolls are always +5 scrolls. The chance of getting them rises as the champion spawn level rises, but the odds are relatively low in every case. The Justice virtue bonus does not apply to these scrolls.
Power Scroll Book
This is a special item that lets you store the power scrolls your character has found. You can add your existing power scrolls to the book to keep them. You can buy a Powerscroll book from the UO Store.
